Monster Hunt
Daily solo boss activity. You take on a high-HP boss with limited attempts per day, and rewards scale with the damage you deal.
How It Works
- Monster Hunt spawns a boss with a large HP pool. You get a limited number of attempts per day to deal as much damage as possible.
- Total damage dealt across all your attempts is tracked. Rewards scale with your personal damage output.
- Certain skills are tagged as excluded from Monster Hunt's skill offer pool. This is an intentional balancing decision — skills that would trivialize scoring are removed from the bundle generator in this mode.
Build Priority: Sustained DPS
Monster Hunt rewards total damage dealt, not kills. This changes build priorities significantly from Labyrinth:
- Burst builds are weak here. Knife Assassin and Limit Break Burst are optimized around one-shot windows; against a boss with 100M+ HP you need sustained output, not burst.
- Ramping builds excel. Serpent Alchemist Hybrid and Bolt Storm Caster are ideal — their DPS scales with fight length, and Monster Hunt fights are long by design.
- Stack DoT damage. Poison Spread, Burn Spread, and Warlock's DoT amplification all contribute to total damage counters even when the boss isn't at low HP.
- Don't bring a tank. Use a DPS + Healer + DPS comp. The boss won't focus-fire like a Labyrinth enemy pack, so tank mitigation is mostly wasted.
Recommended Builds
Serpent Alchemist Hybrid
Ramps with fight length; DoT stacking makes Monster Hunt its best mode.
Bolt Storm Caster
Consistent multi-hit output; scales sustained damage.
Alchemist DoT
Pure DoT focus for cheap total-damage stacking.
Frost Opener Wizard
Higher ceiling than Pack Hunter; rewards gear investment.
Pet Team
Same core as Labyrinth (Slime Freeze + damage pet + flex), but consider swapping the flex slot for Jellykin (Epic Slime Poison) — its poison stacks count toward your total damage and proc off DoT-focused builds.
